Happy Tails! – LOLLIPOP

Thank you for allowing our family to adopt Lollipop.  She has blended into our family perfectly.  At this moment her border collie brother is licking Lollipop’s face.  They play constantly.  Lollipop has enjoys long walks along the bayou with her border collie brother.  They love to pull tug of war with toys.   She and our cats have come to an agreement to live in peace.
In addition, she seems to know that she has a job.  Her job is to provide companionship to my 89 year old mother.  Since we work during the day, Lollipop spends most days at my mother’s retirement home.  She is constantly in my mother’s lap.  She even rides in her lap while my mother is in her wheel chair.  I have enclosed a picture of the two.
Lollipop’s favorite place to sleep is in bed with us.  She likes to sleep with her head on the pillow and her body under the covers.  She is a joy to have in our family.

Happy Tails! – LEXI (pka Slate)

Two weeks after we rescued Lexi, we enrolled her in a two week doggie boot camp and graduated from “Man’s Best Friend” with honors and we keep in touch with her coach.  She has licked, kissed and wagged her way into our hearts and keeps us entertained with her antics, extremely loud snoring and beautiful eyes.
We are so lucky that Lexi found us and wanted to be a part of our family!!

Happy Tails! – BERNIE

Bernie and his new big brother Murphy are getting along great and running each other to exhaustion in the backyard every day.  Bernie has seemed to fit right in and feel at home after the first 10 minutes.  He’s one of those “I love everything” kind of guys, as is Murphy.  My home office opens up to the yard and they play until they can’t move anymore, then they fill up on water and come inside with me to nap.
The only problem we’ve had so far is trying to teach Murphy about sharing his toys.   He’s not open to it just yet.   So, whenever the growling gets too much, the toys go into a box.   It made Bernie nervous at first, but now he likes to mess with Murphy by grabbing a toy and running away with it just to get a reaction.   Murphy is not amused.   But we’re getting there.
All in all, they seem to be having the time of their lives and Jenny and I are very happy we found Bernie, and grateful to your organization and all you do.Thanks again!
Gavin and Jenny

P.S.  I almost forgot about the cats.  One concern we had was how Bernie would react to the cats who live with us inside.  Murphy was a little aggressive with them at first, but he learned to leave them alone over time and now they get along fine.  Bernie wasn’t the least bit aggressive even at first, and they seem to have no problem with him either.  Generally, I think they couldn’t care less.   But hey, they’re cats.  They don’t really get keyed up about most things.

Happy Tails! – MELISSA

Melissa is doing great.  She’s 5 months old now and after some boarding and training at City Canine, she is no longer biting and is such a calm puppy.  We were worried we wouldn’t be able to keep her because of the aggressive biting and it was breaking our hearts.  But she was definitely meant for our family.
We love her so much!  Thank you K-9 Angels for allowing us to meet and adopt her!

Happy Tails! – CALLIE (pka Dash)

Here is the little mischievous baby taking a nap on the way to Lake Travis in Austin.   She has already spent a couple of weekends yachting.  Everyone loves her at the Marina.  She has even kayaked with me.   Thanks to everyone for saving such a sweetheart for me.  Everyone says we are a perfect match, both full of energy.  She loves walks or running I should say.

Callie has a shoe fetish.  One day she had at least 10 of my shoes in her bed.  Thank goodness she only chewed on two of them.  Callie seems to be the happiest dog I have ever seen.  She loves to snuggle and give puppy kisses.  I love her little personality.  She will attack the sprinkler if the water is spraying.   Callie is my shadow and I love her dearly.  P.S. Callie said to thank everyone for saving her and finding her a loving home.

Happy Tails! – WINNIE (pka Pancake)

We love her and she is coming out of her shell.  As you can see in the photo, she is doing much less pancaking than when we first met her.  We will send updates.
Your organization is such a great reflection on the spirit of this city’s people.  We commend all your volunteers and foster parents.  Thanks for all you do!
