Happy Tails! – JACK & LILLY (pka Bates & Remy)

Jack (formerly Bates) was adopted on Feb 28.  He and Lilly (formerly Remy and adopted last May), are having a blast.  They play constantly and love going on walks together.  They sleep and eat well together and keep things pretty active around the house.  We adopted Jack because Lilly loves playing with other dogs and, so far, things are good.  ‘Couple of pretty happy dogs.

Happy Tails! – RHETT (pka Boog)

I thought I would drop you a note to let you know how Rhett is doing.  He is so stink’in’ smart!  He can sit and lay down and come.  He is so proud of himself!  He went to meet his Dr. this past Friday and he weighs 17 lbs.  They fell in love with him and was very impressed with his temperament and so are we!  He goes with me every morning and evening for an hour drive to take my son to school and pick him up.  He is a good rider.  He also goes to work with me and has been a great greater at our event venue!
Thank you for trusting in us to give him a good home!  I am grateful to you for trusting in us.  He is scheduled to be altered in Houston this Wednesday so I will be making the trip down to take care of that.  My vet said it is better to wait until they are 6 months, but everything has fallen into place for the surgery to be done.  Our kitties and he get along great and he and his sister have become the best of friends!
Thank you again for letting us adopt our baby boy!  We are deeply in love!

Happy Tails! – DAGNY & KHALEESI (pka Brisa & Wendy)

I remember the last day I was with my foster mother – we were sad because we didn’t know if we’d ever find our new parents.

Then, one day, the door opened, we heard the familiar jingle of the bells, and felt the fresh, cool gust of wind blowing in, and I saw the most beautiful woman in the world (with the most handsome man coming in right behind her), and instantly I knew they were the adopted parents we’d been longing for.
My new Mommy’s eyes locked with mine, and she gasped as I barked in surprise and I knew then that she knew, too.   I couldn’t control my wagging tail – I looked at my sister and barked, “She’s taking me, and she’s not taking you!”
“I remember that day too, but as you saw our new Mommy come to get us, I saw our new Daddy, and his smile made be jump all around with joy!  I was fine with you going with her, so long as he took me.”
“Come on girls, the truth is that we wanted to keep y’all together, and we’ve got enough love between us to take care of you both. Although we initially intended to get only one little puppy, you two cuties left us no choice!”
Dagny and Khaleesi are now living happily ever after with Stella and Josh.   🙂

Happy Tails! – CHANELLE & CHEYENNE (pka April & Cheyenne)

Bob and I saw these two sisters on Petfinder one day.  They were advertised as a Chihuahua mixes.  We were very excited since we love little lap dogs (our 5.5 lb Chihuahua was not able to move to TX with us last year and our 6 lb poodle has been lost since Christmas Eve).  Our house seemed empty and we knew it was time to fill our home with the love of a dog.
When we saw the pictures of Chanelle and Cheyenne, we fell in love.  Cheyenne came home first.  Chanelle had swallowed a bolt (as in nut and bolt), so she was not able to come home until it was removed.  (BTW: she didn’t learn her lesson and we have to be careful to keep everything out of her reach.)  Now this is getting to be a challenge since she and Cheyenne are growing in leaps and bounds!  Both girls are about 15 lbs now and the vet predicts they will be about 40 lbs each.  Oh well, I can’t hold them on my lap, but they are sure fun to snuggle with on the sofa.  They are in their forever home.

K-9 Angels Rescue – Spay/Neuter Scholarship Program

Adoption is helping cut down on the animals in the streets, but what if no unwanted litters were born to begin with?!

K-9 Angels is committed to stopping the problem at the source by educating and helping those facing economic issues to spay their dog.
There are SEVERAL programs at low or no cost to spay/neuter and provide wellness services.
Please research in your area what is available.  Don’t let cost negatively affect the health of your pet.  There are SO MANY options out there!
Also, if you would like to join the Education/Outreach effort, please email me at jill@k-9angelsrescue.org
