Happy Tails! – KOLBE (pka Blackie Brown)

My husband and I adopted a Chihuahua mix from K-9 Angels in March 2013 (Gemma), and another K-9 Angel (Hope), a Chiweenie, the following month.  We have had a blast with them.
Mary posted a picture of a precious little guy named Blackie Brown on my FB page the week of February 9.  I shared it with my husband, hoping he’d say, “He is PRECIOUS. Let’s get him!”  But he said, “Really, we don’t need another.”  So I accepted that, although I called Mary to check on his status later in the week.  She told me that a family who had been pre-approved was coming Saturday (Valentine’s Day) to look at him.  I knew it was a done deal… who could look at his face and not take him???  I could not stop thinking of him, so I texted Mary about 11:00 a.m. Saturday just to have her tell me he found a home.  But the interested family said he was too small, and I texted back, “Hold on to him. I’m on my way.” His new name is Kolbe, and he is a doll and has fit right in with our crew.  Our 2 K-9 Angel girls have stepped up to the plate — one nurtures him, the other disciplines him.  They check on him when he’s sleeping, and play with him when he’s awake.
My lap, our house, and our hearts are full.  A big thank you to all the volunteers whose work has so enriched our lives.
